9am - 9:15 Arrival ~ Parents are invited to view our latest art project, preview our new books and explore our thematic learning games and materials with their child.  The art materials are always available, and often children will draw, do an easel painting, or use play-doh during this time. Some days there will be a snack to make or something new on the Discovery table.

9:15 - 9:45 Morning Meeting ~ we sing, dance, sign, share our life experiences and thoughts and explore natural science, read a story and laugh..... every day.  Often this time is used to introduce an new learning material, theme, or concept.

9:45 - 10:30  Free Choice ~ all areas of the room are open for exploration.

10:30 - 10:45  Clean-up and wash hands

10:45 - 11:00  Snack ~ a small, nutritious, snack is provided by The Schoolhouse

11:00 - 11:20  Children share a book from our revolving collection, with a classmate.  Then a story is read to the group.

11:20 - 11:45  Project - usually an Art project tied into our theme or related to a story we have read, or just to experience a new technique.

11:45 - 12:00  Outdoor recess (weather permitting)

12:00 - Dismissal for the Half-Day folks

12:10 - 12:45  Lunch

12:45 - 1:00  Chapter Book

1:00 - 1:50  Math/ Science or Language Arts activity and project time 

1:50 - 2:30  Music/Movement/Drama focus ( making musical instruments, learning a folk dance, rehearsing a play, or enjoying a guest artist, are some of the ways we will use this time).  Also this is an opportunity to enhance and extend any theme we are working on.
